About this position:

Foursquare is looking for an adept Technical Program Manager to coordinate and deliver initiatives across the company. This role will work closely with senior management to define goals and organize requests into actionable items. You will also work closely with our engineering teams to see projects to completion and be responsible for planning and tracking the work across the program. We're looking for someone who can distill requirements from ambiguous requests, proactively work toward resolutions where challenges arise, maintain project plans, establish program roadmaps, and act as a positive driver to improve the overall quality of our organization. A passion to develop a working knowledge of our technology and improve our organizational processes will help foster success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Build out project plans for multiple projects, categorize them under the proper programs, and build/track against a program roadmap.
  • Must be able to fill in a project manager role as necessary.
  • Understand the goals of the program and guides alignment with business goals.
  • Identify and call out optimizations within the program to help guide the execution of work in an effective/efficient manner.
  • Proactively communicate status and any issues to stakeholders and drive the resolution of those issues with respect to the plan
  • Ensure the right level of communication is taking place across stakeholders and owners of interdependent work streams
  • Develop working knowledge of technologies and distill critical information in order to guide/make informed decision/suggestions with the scope of the programs & underlying projects.
  • Proactively seek to improve process and optimize for communication & collaboration
  • Identify and escalate tasks without clear ownership to help ensure that work is done.
  • Assess risk and identifies/escalates/resolves project blockers
  • Foster an environment of transparency and alignment across project team(s)

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Project Management for large software systems projects. Seeing projects across all stages to delivery.
  • Self-driven and confident in ability to execute
  • Clear thinker and concise communicator in both speaking and writing
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to help teams with project and task time estimation
  • Ability to run efficient meetings, facilitate discussion and present to senior leadership
