We are currently seeking a Sr Sales Engineer,

The Role

As a Sales Engineer, you will work hand-in-hand with our global sales team to accelerate deals through the sales funnel. You will proactively work with sales and internal engineering teams to properly resource strategic sales efforts globally. You will build strong relationships with customers and engineering teams to ensure Planet products solve the customer’s business need. Your contributions will directly impact Planet’s progress toward sales goals.


Work closely with sales, engineering, and customers to demystify the technical aspects of a deal
Inform product roadmap and features based on customer requirements
Demonstrate Planet platform capabilities to solve customer business problems
Quickly identify customer business drivers and tie to Planet products/data

Must Haves:

Unending drive to build business and change the world
2-5 years experience in an SE role
2-5 years experience selling technical product or data set
Experience with Python scripts
A demonstrated understanding of distributed systems, cloud platform, API and software tools
Excellent communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MBA or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
Nice to Haves:

Familiarity with geo-spatial data, satellite imagery, and remote sensing
Direct sales experience
Ability to pull off the impossible
