DataStax, the leader in data management for cloud applications, is seeking a talented Senior Director of Business Process Transformation to join our DataStax team.
Job Description:
We are launching the company’s first GTM / Financial / Operational Focused Business Process Transformation role and are looking for you to develop and lead it. YOU will be the key driver and enabler of Business Process transformation in the form of people, process and technology related projects focussed on GTM / G&A areas of responsibility.
The Business Transformation role will report into the CFO (based in Santa Clara, CA) and, while we would strongly prefer that you be based in the Bay Area, we are a globally distributed company and seeking the best talent, wherever that talent resides. The role will also work with and under the direction of a GTM / G&A steering committee which will help develop and prioritize critical areas of focus.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage critical projects to success across the GTM and G&A organizations, ensuring that our GTM and G&A systems and processes are appropriate and scalable for our company, are efficient and operate effectively.
Manage projects and areas of focus that are supportive of our goals in relation to providing real time effective insights to help with decision support, automation and simplification of important areas of our business.
Assess areas of weakness and opportunity for our GTM / G&A teams and suggest, get agreement on and execute on projects to help improve our operation.
Mentor project managers across the GTM and G&A organization to ensure project deliverables are met as well as ensuring that we are developing more capability and scale re transformation.
Provide updates and dashboard to GTM and G&A leadership and executive management to show progress on key initiatives.
Keep abreast of technology and business trends in the market related to areas of responsibility such that this person is an authority on the latest tools and techniques related to this role.
Present regularly to key stakeholders on progress.
Job Requirements:
MBA or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience)
Possess strong decision making and prioritization skills; have experience overseeing and managing complex, organizationally matrix based programs & schedules
Excellent interpersonal/customer relations skills; clear and concise verbal and written communicator, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialog
Be able to work independently; anticipating and resolving problems
Self-motivated and pro-active with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
Strong leadership and excellent communication skills, with experience managing, motivating and mentoring teams/individuals
Ability to come up to speed on technology quickly and can clearly articulate benefits and business value of DataStax
Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop strategic initiative, tools, etc.
Be the internal evangelist, build consensus with executives, colleagues, and third parties
Define detailed use cases intended for internal tools / team usage
Represent business interests / company priorities during design, use case development and implementation phases
Work with cross functional stakeholder teams to communicate project status, resolve issues, and ensure that high quality output is consistently, reliably and predictably delivered on time
Manage cross-functional schedules and report on project health to management via dashboard / other metrics based status tools
Develop launch plans, ensure readiness of the various stakeholders
Measure and report on the efficacy of initiatives and develop action plans accordingly
