DataStax, the leader in data management for cloud applications, is seeking a talented Enterprise Architect to join our DataStax team.
Job Description:
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for delivering and scaling DataStax focused solutions to our largest Customers. This role involves designing efficient and effective programs that leverage our solutions to meet customer’s current and future requirements. You will collaborate with our customer business and IT stakeholders across lines of business to drive seamless alignment in the context of DataStax solutions. You will be an integral and extended part of the customer’s (architectural) strategy team; having a seat at the table to guide and provide value and input on their future initiatives. You will develop a deep understanding of the customer’s business and identify opportunities to utilize DataStax solutions and our teams to deliver business value.
You are a thought leader and a trusted advisor to our customers. You will provide prescriptive guidance around DataStax architecture strategies, implementation roll out road maps, scale, operations and overall adoption. A key part of this role is to drive influence and evangelize DataStax solutions within assigned accounts. You will have exceptional problem solving, communication and people skills. You will have strong empathy for customers, ability for data-driven decision making, systems thinking and an ability to coordinate many different decision makers in a customer organization.

You are part of the services team and will work closely with the extended account team to maximize business value of customer’s uses cases. This is a strategic role interacting with key stakeholders within DataStax.
Essential Job Functions:
As a trusted advisor, own the overall DataStax Enterprise (DSE) solution to drive its effectiveness and efficiency within a customer.
Ability to develop and drive the customer roadmap and DataStax’s involvement.
Be the customer advocate within DataStax.
Interface with DataStax and client resources across the client implementation within the enterprise and drive best practices and lessons learned.
Influence future lifetime value through higher product adoption, customer satisfaction and overall health scores.
Ensure DSE and its many features are utilized in the best possible fashion to drive customer success.
Catalog each customer use case implemented within DSE.
Review customer enterprise architecture standards and determine how DSE fits into those standards.
Develop processes and standards based on lessons learned from customer implementations.
Align the DSE solution to the client’s business and technical outcomes.
Ability to apply new DSE features to existing and new client use cases.
Communicate and orchestrate activities with DataStax Sales, Product, Services, Support, Training and Renewals teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Implement processes to track and measure client business outcomes.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (an advanced degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years’ relevant work experience.
Up to 50% travel
Broad familiarity with technologies commonly found in Enterprise environments such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, graph databases, multiple programming languages and programming paradigms, queuing technologies, cloud providers, distributed data processing, server operating systems
Excellent interpersonal/customer relations skills; clear and concise verbal and written communicator, with the ability to effectively navigate and mediate conflict and foster honest dialog. At executive levels.
Entrepreneurial approach - a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation.
Proven track record leading customer engagements with demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts, guide strategy and deliver positive results for customers.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail and deliver results across multiple initiatives such as driving expansion, customer satisfaction, feature adoption, and retention.
Experience with account portfolio planning and prioritization.
The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certified (not required, but highly encouraged).
