HR Business Partner at Mapbox

As a member of the People Team, the Human Resources Business Partner will support our growing company by working across the team and with leadership to develop, implement, and improve HR policies and processes.

You will be responsible for ensuring that compensation, benefits programs are competitive and inclusive for our US based employees. You will ensure all employee related policies are consistently administered in compliance with best practices and government regulations. You will also play a crucial role in scaling HR practices not only for US based employees but also on a global scale.

What you will be doing

Provide advice, consultation, and coaching to our leaders and employees on conflict, performance
Conduct check-ins and manage employee relations with leaders and employees in San Francisco and remote locations
Onboard new hires including: coordinating with the manager after they’ve accepted an offer, sending onboarding packets, and providing an in-person orientation on their first day to give a Mapbox overview, and conducting check-ins
Own the annual open enrollment process through collaboration with our benefits broker, ensuring our benefits are competitive and inclusive for all of our employees and future employees
Work with legal and HR colleagues to refine our employment policies and processes, and conduct regular analyses and audits ensuring compliance adherence to local, state and federal rules and regulations
Lead immigration and visa processes on behalf of the company and employees to help new hires obtain the appropriate work visa and also help with the renewal of current visas
Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy in our HRIS
Develop and implement systems, process and policies to help keep our HR team running seamlessly
Quickly establish and build strong relationships with internal customers at every level of the company
What you bring

6+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner, ideally at a high-growth company
The ability to work well in an ambiguous state of HR. You are self-motivated, and don’t need a playbook to feel confident in your role
A humble demeanor with a great sense of humor, impeccable judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality
The ability to move fast with precision
Experience working with employees in obtaining and renewing work visas (particularly H1B, TN and B-1 visas)
Demonstrated expertise in the design, compliance, administration, and communication of employee benefits
Knowledge of regulatory and legislative developments governing benefit plans (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.)
Exceptional organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
This position is based out of San Francisco, CA.
