Supply Quality Manager

Supplier Quality Manager/Engineer strives to be the leader in supplier quality management and ability to scale to manage the business relations with all tiers of suppliers. Key responsibilities include to ensure all vendors and purchased part are qualified and approved per Katerra requirements (regulatory, statutory, Katerra standards & Katerra warranty). Thrive together with the suppliers to improve and develop vendor process & product towards long term partnership, optimized cost and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Take lead in supplier qualification and approval from a quality perspective, including leading the on-site quality audits.
Anticipates potential problems, identifies and resolves performance issues and problems that affect the reliability, manufacturability, or availability of purchased parts.
Partner with Global Commodity Managers to create long term partnerships, operational excellence and optimized product cost while maintaining a high sensitivity to quality.
Take lead in purchased part product qualification and testing, provide on-site technical guidance to suppliers and monitor them toward assuring product / process compliance with Katerra requirements.
Lead the development and maintenance of suppliers towards improving process capability, process competence and product quality.
Lead communication with suppliers, Global Commodity Managers, and other internal teams on technical/quality issues and improvements.
Lead the FMEA process to identify potential problems and improvements with design of new products, specifications, components, and materials.
Tracking, management and reporting for the assigned quality initiative programs.
Passion for excellence with high integrity and commitment to quality.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar discipline.
Experienced in Quality and Process improvement projects.
Passionate about learning new technologies.
Experienced in statistical tools for root cause analysis and statistical decision making.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing and quality environment.

Desired Skills & Experience

Solid experience on quality tools such as statistical process control, Six Sigma, Lean, process improvements, yield improvements, cycle time reductions, Pareto charts, root cause analysis, failure modes, test procedures, gauge reliability and repeatability, FAI (first article inspection), Cpk (statistical process capability), etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1) ISO9001 auditor certified or trained is preferred.
2) GB or BB certified is preferred.
3) Self-discipline, self-starter, ability to work in cross-functional & global team environment.
