As a Technical Writer, you will be an integral part of our efforts to create clear, mature, and consistent documentation of our product. This is a challenging writing role but also a highly rewarding one. Sumo Logic’s technology is powerful and complex, and creating content about it requires a deep technical aptitude, both to develop a thorough understanding of the products in a fast-paced environment and to communicate this understanding to our users effectively.

From a technology perspective, we provide our customers with an easy to use elastic cloud analytics service (SaaS solution running on AWS) tailored for DevOps, IT Ops and Security teams. Our documentation must meet the needs of these highly technical users.

What you get to do in this role:

Create product documentation for Security, IT Operations, and DevOps personnel
Work closely with development teams in an Agile environment
Influence early-stage product decisions by representing the voice of the customer
Continuously improve documentation by responding to and incorporating feedback from customers and internal users
Collaborate with other information developers to produce and share content for different types of deliverables (blogs, product doc, knowledge base, video) to ensure consistent quality
To succeed in this role, you need to have:

5+ years experience as a Technical Writer working with a deeply technical enterprise software offering
Proven experience partnering with Engineering, Product Management, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success.
Strong knowledge of digital technologies and media, including XHTML, CSS, and XSL
Experience working in Scrum/Agile environments
Self-direction, flexibility, and an eagerness to learn
Ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, direct, and active style
Proven experience making technical content accessible to audiences with mixed levels of expertise
Knowledge of documenting complex administration systems processes in a SAAS environment
Ability to learn highly technical products quickly
Understanding of source control and ability to manage files in systems like Git or SVN is a plus
Experience working in the big data analytics, enterprise security, log management, or APM vertical is a huge plus.
